A few years ago I got a call from someone who told me he knew how I could get $600 and he'd tell me if I agreed to give him $100. I agreed. It turned out that I had an old bank account that I had been using when I was in university and I forgot about it. The guy who called me found out about it in the Canada Gazette. In those days there wasn't a website but these things were printed in the Gazette and I don't remember how you could get a copy of it. Anyway, I got the money and paid the guy like I had agreed to. I found almost $1,900 for a friend who used to work up in the Yukon and had changed his last name. I've also let various charities know if I saw unclaimed money. I never ask for anything in return, just feel good doing this. Posted by: Dinny on October 18, 2015 |

Wow! Thanks for this - I thought I was very careful about my money, but somehow I missed $6l of my son's money when he was young. It somehow didn't get sent with everything else when we moved. Posted by: pj on March 8, 2017 |
