Posted by: tomgirl on March 4, 2024

blue and white in the flag

Posted by: tomgirl on March 4, 2024

I figured the blue and white is for Quebec..so I put my flag on Quebec City, but it was wrong..maybe it s Montreal? Or Nova Scotia also has blue and white on their provincial flag

Posted by: Sunset on March 4, 2024

Could be a number of provinces with blue and white in the province's flag. At least for this contest test, the daily entry will be an entry...we don't have to be exact to have a chance at one of the grand prizes. Fun to guess though. Good luck folks!

Posted by: paula3kids on March 4, 2024

Was this 24 hrs last year or just an ET calendar day?

Posted by: 123ABC on March 4, 2024

The clue says, "The colours in the provincial flag where you ll find the Stanley Cup include blue and white."

The Stanley Cup makes its permanent home within the Esso Great Hall at the Hockey Hall of Fame. Retired bands, along with the original Stanley Cup bowl, are proudly displayed in Lord Stanley's Vault in the Esso Great Hall.

Hockey Hall of Fame, 30 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario M5J 1C4, Canada

The Ontario Flag includes blue and white (along with red, green and yellow).

Posted by: luxeaddict on March 4, 2024

123ABC I remember keeping track of a 24h clock for this contest in the past. I will do the same this year.

New clue is out. Based on that second clue, I think Cole Harbour NS is about that distance from the Las Vegas Strip. But it is early days in this contest. So who knows. Good luck folks!

Posted by: paula3kids on March 5, 2024

It keeps telling me "The answer you entered for the CAPTCHA was not correct."

Posted by: demon1102 on March 5, 2024

Does anyone know the winning location of last year's?

Posted by: audrey61 on March 5, 2024

I am trying to put this address in for the #3 clue: 4545 Pierre-de Coubertin Ave, Montreal as it is where the Olympic Stadium is but I keep getting an error message. Looks as if this contest may be a no go one.

Posted by: scottydog1 on March 6, 2024

Worked today using Edge : )

Posted by: slgirard on March 6, 2024

Clue 4 is most likely Crosby's Golden Goal in the 2010 Winter Olympics, so probably NS. That's my 2 cents.

Posted by: 123ABC on March 7, 2024

Link to open doesn't work right now.

Posted by: eabeier on March 7, 2024

I won this a couple of years ago but it was the start of covid so I took the money. The prize value is a bit more this year.

Posted by: whisper on March 7, 2024

Great win Whisper! Congrats!

Posted by: paula3kids on March 7, 2024

During the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada, the men's ice hockey team won the gold medal. In the gold medal game held on February 28, 2010, Canada defeated the United States 3-2 in overtime. The game-winning goal was scored by Sidney Crosby. Other notable goals in that tournament were scored by players such as Jonathan Toews, Corey Perry, and Ryan Getzlaf, among others.

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022:

Jonathan Toews was born on April 29, 1988, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Corey Perry was born on May 16, 1985, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
Ryan Getzlaf was born on May 10, 1985, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Sidney Crosby was born on August 7, 1987, in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Sidney Crosby IMO. Halifax is also 5399km from Las Vegas, NS has Blue and White in the flag and has hosted the Canada Games twice. So far it matches the best I can figure out.

Audrey61,
2023 - The location where the virtual Stanley Cup was hidden was
2070 PEEL STREET, IN MONTREAL QUEBEC.

Martin L. of Montreal, Quebec was the first person to place their marker closest to the location where our virtual Stanley Cup was hidden and is a Grand Prize Winner.

Posted by: Pearls on March 12, 2024

That is fabulous! Super congrats to Martin with his guess and win!

Posted by: The3G1 on March 12, 2024

Sorry my mistake, I should have read all of the comments = please ignore my message above regarding Martin's win - continued good luck to everyone!

Posted by: The3G1 on March 12, 2024

Thank you Pearl's! Nice to see a Quebecer win this awesome prize last year! Good luck to everyone!

Posted by: audrey61 on March 12, 2024

Is anyone else getting tired of these "province" clues and waiting for something more specific?

Posted by: Astrid on March 15, 2024

With you Astrid as is annoying.

Posted by: s2pigeau on March 15, 2024

New clue makes me think it might be the Maritime Museum in Halifax.

Posted by: ronnieg on March 17, 2024

here are two teams in Nova Scotia that compete in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) which is part of the CHL. Of course it could be a trick question since there are two in Quebec and two in Ontario. Well there are actually 8+ in each but it would be a true statement to say there are two in Quebec or Ontario.

Halifax Mooseheads
Cape Breton Eagles

Is anyone else getting on the captcha skip all the time with no chance to verify?

Posted by: dodoman on March 23, 2024

DodoMan, I too feel victimized by the captcha, LOL. It's taking forever to get an accepted one.

Posted by: queridasara on March 23, 2024

I think today is Manitoba. Washington Capitals Captain is number 8, and the 8th largest province in Canada in Manitoba.

Posted by: queridasara on March 23, 2024

Unless they mean by population, in which case New Brunswick is #8

Posted by: luxeaddict on March 23, 2024

I am going to say today's (March 24th) answer is Rick Bowness and he was born in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Posted by: s2pigeau on March 24, 2024

I am staying with Nova Scotia. All clues up to now can fit Nova Scotia. The latest clue says a current NHL coach. It may be a stretch but I think assistant coaches may count and Cail MacLean is from Nova Scotia. He is assistant coach for Flames at the moment. Good luck folks.

Posted by: paula3kids on March 24, 2024

paula3kids I agree with you and am staying with Nova Scotia. Clue said on the bench which would cover both positions I.e. does not need to be head coach

Posted by: Kennil on March 24, 2024

Posted by: sweetjen_7 on March 28, 2024

No, we can guess maybe after we see who makes it to the playoffs.
But also Toronto. For sure Toronto. ;)

Posted by: Andie13 on March 29, 2024

Andie13, really? When was Toronto last in the finals?

Posted by: Slegr on March 31, 2024

Hey, anything can happen . . . if we finally make it past the first round. :P

Posted by: Andie13 on March 31, 2024

Think Edmonton will take the Cup this year!

Ok thank I'll stick with Dartmouth NS forever

Posted by: Channjam on April 13, 2024

April 16th hint points to citadel:

The location you're referring to is likely the Citadel Hill in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The television series shot there was "The Lizzie Borden Chronicles," which starred Christina Ricci, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in "Monster." The series aired in 2015 and was filmed in various locations in Nova Scotia, including Citadel Hill.

Chicago won only once, in 1961 and that is the same year that Dartmouth was incorporated as a city, so we're still on the Dartmouth map I think!

Posted by: The3G1 on April 21, 2024

I agree The3G1. I am still guessing in Dartmouth.
Good luck folks!

One Vezina Trophy winner who was not born in Canada but lived in Nova Scotia is Dominik Hasek. Hasek, a legendary goaltender from the Czech Republic, won the Vezina Trophy multiple times during his NHL career. After retiring from professional hockey, Hasek spent some time living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
