PSA: I very experienced sweeper warned people to steer clear of Bassmaster promotions, and I of course ignored him because I liked the prize. He said that they were known for annoying phone calls and it was near impossible to successfully unsubscribe from their newsletters.

I am paying that advice forward because I now view them as a pain in the rear like he does. I have tried unsubscribing close to a dozen times and the spam just keeps pouring in. My favorite (sarcasm) spam is the CONGRATULATIONS in the subject line only to find out they are giving me free BAIT with my order.

I have not received any phone calls that I am aware of, but several other people confirmed his warning that they have received slimy calls from them.

This is a nice prize so I suspect most if not all will ignore by PSA.

Thank you for the heads-up, sweepsaddict. From the rules: "By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants acknowledge that the Sponsor may contact them by mail, email and/or phone and consent to such contact."

Personally, I'm fine with mail and email, but the phone is a dealbreaker for me.

Thanks for the info, I will pass on this one

I've entered all their sweeps and have NEVER received any contact of any kind from Bassmaster.

Posted by: trwus on April 14, 2019

trwus, I call BS.

I receive spam from them every day and got two on Friday. Yours likely goes to a SPAM folder that you never even look at. Hope you didn't overlook and contest wins as well.

Same here trwus. I check spam multiple times/day because that's where most of my wins go.

Anyone here that also follows the Contest section on slickdeals will tell you that implode is one of the most respected on that forum.

If I could attach a picture to the comments section, I would do a screenshot of my deleted folder showing a BASSMASTER search.

I'm not sure if this will work for others, but I check that "I have gone bass fishing in the last 24 months". I also, when I have been called (a few times over the years...) just tell them I'm only interested in the prize as a gift for a family member and that I do not bass fish, and they agree to remove me from their mailing list. Perhaps that screws me on the prize as well, but at least I feel like I've entered AND am not getting harassed as some of you say.

TLDR: put that you haven't recently bass fished and see if the constant contact dries up?

ahhhh crap, do NOT check "I have gone bass fishing in the last 24 months".Sorry..sweeping clears my mind after 13 hour workdays...clearly not clear enough yet! :) . Good luck to all!

Posted by: ktthequeen on April 15, 2019

A few years back I remember them calling all the time. But I agree with trwus...for the last 3 or 4 times I've entered their sweeps I have not gotten calls or emails, and I check my spam folder every day. Call BS on me too, but I'm not a liar. I check the box that says that I HAVE gone bass fishing in the last 2 years, and I also check NO, I don't want to join B.A.S.S etc. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself!

I share information that I feel is relevant because it is the right thing to do. The fact that it makes some people here butt hurt is just an added bonus.

I have had trwus cheat me multiple times on referral chains. Not relevant to this promotion, but certainly relevant to the site.

Happy Monday.

Also stating information that I feel is relevant. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

Posted by: Fuzzyjo55 on April 15, 2019

Fuzzy, my comment wasn't directed at you nor are my feelings hurt.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on April 15, 2019

I have NEVER cheated anyone out of their referrals!!! There are many times I check back and haven't rec'd my extra entries although someone has said they used my link. I trust the person has used my link but I suspect some sweeps aren't set up properly and therefore don't register the extra entry.

And, YES, I have to check my spam multiple times a day and still haven't found any Bassmaster.
