Apparently 2:12 minutes is WRONG. Good luck

Posted by: FunGuy on November 8, 2019

here is the hashtag #BrotherhoodOfMuscle

I think the answer might be 4:16 but havent tried it yet.

Posted by: joe55555 on November 8, 2019

Fun how did you know 2:!2 was wrong? I chose 5 minutes and it just said we'll give the answer next week and good luck. Thanks joe for the hashtag.

Posted by: chrissy800 on November 8, 2019

I would advise entering as many hashtags as you can before taking a guess. That's what I plan to do. I'm a finance person married to an engineer, and I want to make sure Dodge hasn't chosen a less specific/non-mathematical answer.

However...I'm operating under the assumption we can only guess once.

Posted by: LCascade on November 8, 2019

#brotherhoodofmuscle will narrow it down, but I still have no clue.

Posted by: bentrd on November 8, 2019

joe55555, thanks for the code. Where did you find it? I looked all over, cam up empty.

Posted by: budbeag on November 8, 2019

I used that hashtag yesterday. It of course is still good to use today or any other day this week, but there should be more available.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 8, 2019

Well LCascade you have a decided advantage! Now if you would only help a former English major! Also 4:16 is no longer an option for me, so not sure that is correct - maybe it is a non number answer

Posted by: sonnetdog on November 8, 2019

4.16 isn't left as an option for me either, and at a glance hubby thought it too high anyway. I plan to sit him down after I've narrowed it more. My gut tells me we're too focused on the math; if you ignore the formulas and read the words it sounds like a game. "What you might (not will) need..." and "a straight line from top to bottom" could be misleading. (If you're creating a fantasy paved road from start to finish on that particular route, it would be much shorter.) Once I'm down to five choices I'll be happy to share my guess and I'm hoping it's one that stands out as fairly obvious. We all have until Monday--thankfully--to compare notes.

Posted by: LCascade on November 8, 2019

Sharing the other hashtags would be nice.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 8, 2019

How do you enter? I click on a box with an answer and it goes red, but doesn't stay red when I move the cursor. I've tried clicking boxes, but no entry comes up.

When I tried my best guess they told me I was WRONG :(
Where's Sheldon when you need him?

Posted by: FunGuy on November 9, 2019

weird. I entered this yesterday, from CG, and got the answer wrong. I went into a not-as-good contest site today, found this contest, entered it, and it accepted me without asking any questions!?

Posted by: elliott on November 9, 2019

elliott, the contest site probably installed cookies on your computer to remember you. It doesn't matter where you clicked the link from.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 9, 2019

Enter up to five hashtags per week. Limit of one per day.

Posted by: onyiakpanisi on November 9, 2019

Y'know... they list some of the potential answers as "X:YY Minutes". In the traditional nomenclature, that would signify X=hours, YY=minutes (because the last term is defined, as "minutes".

If it were "R:SS" where R=minutes and SS=seconds, then the term at the end would read "seconds".

Are they trying to cull the herd of entries with this pedantic error, or am I reading too much into this?

Posted by: AMAProSBK on November 10, 2019

Interesting thought AMA If that is the case I guess 3.92 seconds or 3 minutes and 91 seconds would probably be the answer. Right? Any thoughts?

Posted by: sonnetdog on November 10, 2019

I just don't know. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am super, super bad at math. Always have been. That's why I enter contests. I RARELY win anything, but I lie to myself and tell myself there's a chance. When past performance tells me it's a huuuge waste of my time.

But I know that 12.42 miles at 203 MPH (not from a standing start, not up a 6.4% slope) will take 3:40. So it's at least longer than that.

I Google'd and found this: "[the car] will do a claimed 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds, a 10.8-second quarter-mile at 131 mph, and a top speed of 203 mph."

So, from a standing start it takes at least 1,320 feet and nearly 11 seconds just to get up to 131, which is only 64.5% of its terminal velocity ...AND that's on flat ground. Now, in the real world (I spend a lot of time at race tracks and time trial courses) the rate of a vehicle's acceleration slows dramatically the faster you go (horsepower, traction, coefficient of drag, etc.). I'm guessing it would take a full mile (or more) and potentially nearly a full minute (+/-) to reach that 203 mark.

All that said ... 3 minutes 91 seconds (i.e. 4 minutes and 31 seconds) is potentially plausible. I obviously can't verify that with math/science (If I could I wouldn't be here), but knowing the other stats, and my gut, tells me it's at least possible.

Posted by: AMAProSBK on November 10, 2019

I should add: the "3.92 seconds" answer is an obvious throw-away answer, an homage to their 392 cubic-inch (6.4L) Hemi engine in the ScatPak series of cars; same for 3:31 minutes, which is for the 331 cu in "Firepower" Hemi engine, the first generation street hemi from the early '50s. I don't think those are plausible answers.

But the 3 minutes and 91 seconds answer is on my short list of possibles.

Originally I came up with 5.17777 minutes, which is 5 minutes and 11 seconds. I simply threw some numbers in my mental blender and voila. But I read on another forum that the answer, although an option, was wrong. I don't know why it's wrong (high/low), but I suspect the correct answer to be be lower than that.

Posted by: AMAProSBK on November 10, 2019

When it comes to my sweepstakes hobby, my approach is to spend as little time as possible on each and every promotion. If I have to put too much time into a promotion, is usually ends up on my skip list. Although there are exceptions to the rule and I have spent extra time on this promotion, I will not be attempting any math. I will browse social media for the hashtags and maybe a credible source for the answer.

In my opinion, the more you invest yourself into a specific promotion the bigger the letdown when you don't win. On several occasions I have received a Congrats notification and had to look up the promotion to remember it.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 10, 2019

I'm always up for a good puzzle, but I have a couple of things I'd want clarified. Since there's no way for that to happen, I'll just take a stab late tomorrow at one of the 10 remaining choices. 3 minutes 91 seconds looks most likely of the options left, but I saw a couple of postings on the Dodge Facebook page saying that wasn't right. Of course, since it's just someone on facebook, who knows how accurate that is. I eliminated everything over 5 minutes and under 3:40, and 3 min 91 sec was all that remained. This is just a guess, not intended as advice! It's also subject to change based on what gets kicked around Monday.

Posted by: LCascade on November 11, 2019

AMA - So funny about why you enter contests! Must be we are all terrible at odds and math - I am always soooo surprised when I don't win some of these big sweeps ;) (btw - 5 minutes 11 seconds isn't on my list of 10 left)

Posted by: sonnetdog on November 11, 2019

LCascade -

I agree - but will wait until later hoping Einstein posts with the definitive 100% sure "I did the math" answer . . . gee where is he anyway?

Posted by: sonnetdog on November 11, 2019

2:50 minutes.
As fast as a Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye 1/4-mile time.
As fast as it takes a Challenger SRT Hellcat to reach top speed.
3.92 seconds.
2:59 minutes and 33 miliseconds.
3 minutes and 91 seconds.
7 minutes flat.
3:31 minutes.
5:52 minutes.
6:16 minutes.

Posted by: sonnetdog on November 11, 2019

First thing Einstein would want to know is, straight line from a to b? Or 12.42 straightaway? Actually, right now I'm envisioning that very famous pic of him with his tongue out!

Posted by: LCascade on November 11, 2019

The answer was posted (with the math to show how they came to it): it was 3 minutes 91 seconds.

The week 2 question is now posted.

I have very little chance of coming up with the answer on my own.

That's all I know.

Posted by: AMAProSBK on November 12, 2019

4 minutes 31 seconds. At least we now know that they ARE looking for the answer to the math calculation!Instead of something like, "As fast as it can get there!"

Posted by: pattyinkansas on November 12, 2019

I got week one right. I hope they didn't announce a winner yet because I still haven't heard from them.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 12, 2019

The rules say they draw today and notify by email, which could take a little more time. (The video last night saying winner was chosen perturbed me, though.) We got it right, too, though my husband wonders what I would do with it if I did win...why, get everywhere faster, of course!

Posted by: LCascade on November 12, 2019

Are the hashtags suppose to be different for this week? I put in:
#TheBrotherhoodOfMuscle
and it worked, but I thought that was one from last week.

Posted by: pattyinkansas on November 13, 2019

TheBrotherHoodOfMuscle didn't work for me this week.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 13, 2019

YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR MAXIMUM ENTRIES FOR THIS CODE

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 13, 2019

Has anyone been successful with using all 5 hashtags?

Posted by: pattyinkansas on November 13, 2019

i used #dodgehorsepower today, im down to 55 answers for week2

Posted by: joe55555 on November 14, 2019

I just used #brotherhoodofmuscle and it worked

Minus the "the"

Posted by: trwus on November 14, 2019

I read that only 3,000 entries were correct for the 1st weeks question. Has anyone gotten the 2nd weeks question correct? If so, what is the correct answer...... if you're willing to share it here.

Posted by: h20k9 on November 14, 2019

joe55555

You can not reduce the answers below 10.

Posted by: sweepsaddict on November 17, 2019

damn, im thinking the answer is either 32,097 HP or 37,834.2 HP but not sure which

Posted by: joe55555 on November 17, 2019

Does it tell you immediately if you're wrong? I got a generic 'Thanks for playing, we'll tell you the answer next week' or some such... I used the 'seven of one, nine of another, and seven of the other thing' answer. Because HIIK. I think this will be my last entry. This isn't fun. It feels like Dodge is laughing at people who are already bad at math. They don't want you to win anything. They're in a board room laughing at entrants (me). I'll pass. GLTy'A.

Posted by: AMAProSBK on November 18, 2019

My list doesn't include most of the ones in your top 10. The only one of the 10 that I have as a choice is 999
