MyContests is one of the most important features of the Contestgirl website. You
need to register and log in to enable it but it's free
to join and there's no obligations. You will not be put onto any mailing list if you register and your information will never be shared with anyone
or any other company. The rest of this
page will give you an overview of what MyContests is all about - it will tell you about the Presto button, private notes,
private sweeps and all the other things you get when you use the feature.
When you login to the Contestgirl website you will see a new block of links at the top of the left hand side of the page with
"MyContests". These links appear only when you are logged in and they will take you to your own personal lists of
When you first create your account these lists will be empty but you can add to them by clicking on the "Add to MyContests"
link you'll find below the description of each sweepstakes in the regular sweepstakes listings. Once you've added items
to your MyContests lists, you can enter them from that list and when you do, the Contestgirl website will keep track
of the last time you entered each one of them. MyContests allows you to collect all those sweepstakes you want to enter on a
recurring basis into one list and it helps to organize you so you don't enter too often and risk disqualification.
In addition to tracking the last entry time, MyContests allows you to add a private note to any of the items in your list.
To give you an example of when a private note may be useful, let's say a particular sweepstakes requires you to register once
and then login each time for subsequent entries. You could put the login name and password into a private note for that item and
then whenever you go to enter it, you would have your login information handy. Private notes can be seen only by you and
not by anybody else so you can store things in them that you wouldn't want someone else to see. They are not the same as the
comments, which are public even if you add one from your MyContests list so don't put private information into a comment.
Another thing that you'll find in your MyContests list is a button at the top of the page labeled Presto. If you click the
Presto button, the entry forms for all the sweepstakes on that page will be opened simultaneously, each in their own tab or
window. The first time you click the Presto button it can be a bit alarming because you'll see a lot of activity on the
screen but you'll find it to be a big time saver. It allows you to spend more time entering sweeps and less time waiting
for the pages to draw. I use the Presto button all the time and I know a lot of people like it as well.
You can also add links into your MyContests lists for sweeps that aren't included in the main Contestgirl lists.
In every city there are usually lots of contests run by local newspapers and radio stations. I don't often include these in
the Contestgirl lists because I try to keep the site relevant to a large audience so I only list local contests if they
are particularly good. You can add links to these contests yourself however, and when you do they will appear in your
MyContests lists as private items - available only to you and only when you're logged in. I added a number of private items
to my lists. I did a web search for local newspapers and found that some of them have a main contest page. I added the
link to those pages to my weekly MyContests list and each week I run through the list to see if there's anything new. I
love local contests because the odds are usually better than the big national or international sweeps and I've won quite
a few prizes from them.
OK, that's a brief tour of MyContests. If you play with it a bit you'll find it's really easy to use and I think you'll find it
useful as well. If you haven't already created an account, you will need to do that first so you can login. Registering
with the Contestgirl website is easy and free. When you register, I will not use any information you provide for any reason
other than to log you into the website. You will not be added to
any mailing lists and your personal information is never shared with anyone else or any other company. You can see my privacy
policy from the link at the bottom of every page on the website.
Good luck and have fun.
